Lubricants for natural and synthetic fibres and knitting machinery

Benjn. R. Vickers & Sons Ltd., the internationally-known supplier of textile lubricants, celebrated 175 years of service to the textile industry in 2003. With origins in the woollen industry of Yorkshire, the company has established itself as a world leader supplying lubricants for both natural and synthetic fibres, as well as speciality lubricants for knitting machinery.

Its commitment to the achievement of consistent product quality is recognised by accreditation under the Quality Assurance Standard BS EN ISO 9001.

Safe, modern manufacturing facilities at its base in Leeds in the North of England are designed to ensure that the company's products are delivered to the customer on specification and on time.

Vickers is accredited under the BS EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard. The company seeks, where possible, to bring environmental benefit through product design and formulation, improved manufacturing processes, control of waste, site management and employee awareness.

Major product groups include the following:-

Woollen spinning

The Yarnol and Lainaspin ranges for cashmere/fine count wool and lambswool production and carpet/upholstery production respectively.

Worsted and semi-worsted system

The Cardol and Drawspin ranges for combing and drawing on the worsted and semi-worsted systems.

Knitting

Spotless CN and Spotless NX scourable needle oils for circular knitting. Jenilube for general purpose machine lubrication including circular knitting. Vickerlube Sock for sock production. Cirnedol for pantihose production.

Synthetic fibres

Texturol range of coning oils for the production of textured yarns. Acetol range for continuous filament acetate production. Vystat range for the production of polypropylene fibre and yarns.

Technical service

All Vickers products are supported by a comprehensive technical service. At the hub of this is a Technical Service Unit which co-ordinates the work of the laboratory and sales team to ensure that customer requests for assistance are responded to quickly and effectively.

International distribution

Vickers products are used by textile processors on five continents. Many years of managing international business on this scale are reflected in the speed and efficiency with which export shipments are executed. Modern warehousing and despatch facilities ensure that delivery deadlines are met and that goods are received on time. Customer support is further underpinned by a network of agents well versed in the company's products and methods of working.
