Fibrevision

Monitoring and testing systems for synthetic yarns

Fibrevision Ltd is a UK-based technology company which specialises in dynamic measurement of synthetic yarns, for application in on-line monitoring, at-line testing and laboratory testing.

Fibrevision's corporate philosophy is to offer substantially improved quality control and monitoring products to the market in three areas:

  • On-Line Monitoring
  • At-Line Testing
  • Laboratory - Dynamic Yarn Characterisation

Fibrevision's equipment is well respected and widely used by major companies in the synthetic fibre business worldwide, covering many processes including POY, FDY, BCF, DTY, ATY, spandex, monofil and T&I.

Fibrevision's first commercial on-line quality monitoring application was for POY and was installed in 2000, with sensors for Interlace, Broken Filaments, Slubs, Denier Variation and Spin Finish. This has been followed by installations for FDY, DTY, T&I, BCF, spandex, monofil and ATY, with over 15,000 threadlines of monitoring now operating worldwide.

Fibrevision has agreements for the exclusive supply of on-line monitoring equipment for new machines with:

  • Neumag for BCF monitoring systems
  • Barmag for DTY, POY, FDY and T&I monitoring systems

The key competence of Fibrevision is in the ability to marry applications understanding with sensor technology, signal processing and software to provide the end-user with very powerful, yet easy to use monitoring systems that offer an excellent return on investment. Fibrevision's expertise in this area has resulted in a unique market leading Monitoring System that is protected by numerous patents/patent applications.

Product Range

FibreScan LabTEX: The LabTEX range of dynamic testing instruments with dedicated applications is ideally suited to laboratory based QC and product characterisation applications.

LabTEX instruments are available for testing:

  • Package Unwinding
  • Interlace Level and Retention
  • Broken Filaments and Broken Filament Sensitivity
  • ATY Quality

FibreScan MicroSCAN: The MicroSCAN is a compact highly portable battery powered unit that offers extremely accurate 'at-line' measurement using FibreSCAN probes to provide four different QC applications:

  • Spin Finish Level and Short Term Variation
  • Interlace level at Speeds up to 7,000 m/min>li
  • Yarn Temperature
  • Tension

Any two of these applications can be provided with a single MicroSCAN.

FibreTQS Monitoring: FibreTQS is an advanced multi parameter monitoring system that provides the facility for full quality monitoring on all types of synthetic fibre processing equipment including: spinning (POY, FDY, BCF, T&I), draw texturing (DTY) and air texturing (ATY), as well as cabling and twisting.

A range of individual and multi-threadline sensors is available for accurate measurement of a range of parameters, including:

  • Interlace level
  • Broken Filaments / Slubs
  • Denier Variation
  • Denier Change
  • ATY Quality
  • Crimp Modulus
  • Spin Finish Level
