The company's S300 Spinning Systems machine combines roving, spinning, twisting, yarn bulking and take-up winding operations into a single process to produce two-fold yarns in the count range 2/16Nm to 2/42Nm.
The S300 will process synthetic staple fibre, natural fibres and their blends with fibre lengths suitable for worsted spinning. It is especially suitable for high bulk (HB) acrylic yarn production.
By reducing the number of process operations in the factory there are large savings made in labour, energy, maintenance, floor space and waste.
The Macart MK1E is the replacement for the Platt MK1 or ST888 model. It is the basic 'Repco' machine incorporating the electronic gear box and servo technology of the S300 but only available with feeding from 1g/m roving (from can or flyer roving) and delivery onto four off 150mm traverse parallel cones. It is the most economic method of manufacturing HB acrylic yarn for machine knitting.
The new MK1E will be unveiled at the ITMA 2011 textile machinery show in Barcelona, Spain.
Macart is the owner of the intellectual property, technical drawings and machine records for all the machines manufactured by the former UK cotton spinning manufacturer Platt.
A full spare parts service worldwide is available for all the machinery previously manufactured by Platt including:
Hollingsworth of America parts are also available.
Macart has been supplying second-hand machinery worldwide for over 50 years. The company specialises in the supply of combing and spinning/twisting and weaving equipment for the long fibre market - especially wool, acrylic, polyester and its blends.
It also manufactures and reconditions specialist plants for cashmere and speciality fibres.
Macart maintains its own stocks of second-hand machines in its large warehouse in Bradford and in addition provides commission sales and consulting services.
The Macart team of highly-skilled engineers provides support services for dismantling and erecting machinery worldwide.
The company's experience of buying and selling, reconditioning and manufacturing new machinery gives it specialist knowledge of the value of capital equipment used in textile plants worldwide. As a result, Macart offers a consultancy service to textile companies, valuers and insurance companies requiring independent valuations of textile plant.
A particular speciality is assisting insurance loss adjusters for major insurance loss claims in overseas markets, where local specialist knowledge may not be available. Macart has recently attended and advised on claims in Korea, Nigeria, Indonesia, Thailand and Venezuela.
