Sellers Engineers

Finishing plans for all types of carpet and tile products

This past year has seen Sellers consolidate its position as a leading manufacturer and supplier of carpet finishing plants and the company is unique in being able to design, manufacture and supply complete lines for all carpet and tile products. This includes full backcoating and drying lines and shearing machines.

The company's extensive engineering facilities enable it to manufacture all components in-house and this, coupled with its design and build expertise, ensures highquality, reliable finishing machinery to meet customer and product requirements.

Carpet finishing plants have been delivered or are on order for countries including: Australia, China, Egypt, Iran, North Africa, South East Asia, Turkey, UK and USA, a number of which have been repeat orders.

This has extended Sellers' already impressive worldwide references in the carpet industry and can be attributed not only to sound design, engineering and product reliability, but also the company's continuing attention to customer care and technical back-up.

New shear

The new Sellers Shear, introduced in 2005, has been well received, with more than 30 new shearing modules ordered this year. The key to this success has been a combination of new and improved features which have resulted in an excellent carpet finish being achieved over the full range of product types, including domestic, contract and automotive carpet. The Sellers Shear is available in a range of formats to meet customer needs, from basic single cylinder units to high-speed multicylinder machines, up to 5 metres wide.

Woven carpets

For woven carpets Sellers can offer the Woven 'Throughflow' Backcoater which is a low-capacity plant ideal for new projects and also higher capacity Woven Finishing Lines are available, which can be customised to suit production requirements. These lines incorporate all the key features required for the quality finishing of woven carpet. These include: guiding, cleaning units, steaming and precise tension control.

Secondary backing

For tufted secondary backing Sellers is unique in being able to offer both conventional direct spread lines as well as its powder lamination lines. The conventional direct spread utilises an accurate foam station combined with a unique transfer roller applicator for level, economic coating.

The powder line offers an environmentallyfriendly secondary backing system with the benefits of improved carpet handle and flexibility, significant energy and space-savings, simplicity and cleanliness of operation.

Foam and latex lines

Finishing lines are also available for foam and latexcoating of carpets, mats and artificial grass, plus needlepunch lines with partial or full impregnation coating systems. All of these lines are based around Sellers' latest heavy-duty stenter system and all components are engineered for minimum maintenance.

Coating lines

Sellers' Bitumen, PVC and PU Coating lines are available for carpet tile products. These can be supplied with the necessary storage and mixing equipment, if required, together with individual tile shearing machines and customized tile trimming systems.

Ancillary equipment

In addition, Sellers designs and manufactures in-house an extensive range of ancillary equipment to complement its finishing lines. This includes: accumulators, scrays, cleaning units with full extraction, steamers, conveyors and re-roll units.

To support this equipment, a team of experienced engineers is available to install and commission the full range of machines and the company prides itself on its spares and after-sales service.
