Technijet

Washing and cleaning systems for printing

For over a decade Technijet has been producing advanced wash systems for many industrial sectors and this has always included the textile printing industry. Specific products now include patented wash systems for both rotary and flat printing screens as well as colour squeegee pipes, complete container wash facilities and automated CIP systems.

Lint and debris removal

In addition a new product branded Roto-Vac has been designed and developed for the continual removal of lint, dust and debris from fabric as it is delivered to the print machine.

The Roto-Vac system is unique as it uses a roller positioned before the first print screen that has a specially-developed adhesive coating applied to its surface. The lint is therefore attracted to the roller at the point where it is most problematic and most likely to affect the printing screens and the final print performance.

Within the Roto-Vac system, a roller cleaning head is positioned to effect lint removal from the adhesive coating. This allows the system to function continually throughout consecutive print runs. There is no modification required to the print machine structure or to the printing heads to allow for installation: the system is totally self contained and continually monitors its own performance.

The Roto-Vac cleaning head uses a unique high-impact patented cleaning system similar to the one first fitted by Technijet to their Rotary Screen Wash units. This ensures adhesive levels remain constant and effective throughout prolonged operation.

Technijet and other companies within the printing industry believe that Roto-Vac can offer a solution to the continual problem of lint and dust pick-up on to screens, and that one day all print machines could be fitted with this system as it will be recognised to be the most effective solution available.

Rotary screen washing

The Technijet Rotary Screen Wash units are also unique. They are manufactured for both manual or fully-automatic operation, with the facility for cleaning up to 20 screens simultaneously. All the screen wash systems use a similar patented high-pressure water-jet design that can offer an extremely high quality of cleaning efficiency. This ensures the total removal of printing paste and potential screen blockages. The high-pressure jet wash design also ensures a fast screen clean-out time without causing any damage or distortion to the screen mesh.

The rotary screen wash systems are designed to accommodate screen repeat sizes of 640mm to 1,018mm and print widths of 1,850mm to 3,200mm. The flat screen wash systems can also cope with similar print widths.

Compared to conventional systems, the Technijet controlled jet wash nozzle arrangement can reduce water consumption by up to 75%, therefore offering solutions for many environmental considerations.

As the fully-automatic screen wash system processes up to 20 rotary screens at any one time, this also leads to improved efficiency around the print machine during screen changeover. It ensures labour costs are minimised, leading to a maximisation of the print department output.

Squeegee pipe wash and container / drum wash facilities are also available for manual and automatic operation. These systems also use high-pressure water jets to effect cleaning and thus give the same advantages of improved cleaning and reduced downtime with improvements in efficiency.

Performance data

Technijet has further developed its website to hold product information and technical performance data on all their systems, including the new Roto-Vac unit. In addition, there is the facility to download operational video footage of various working installations, and contact pages for customer enquiries.
