ITM 2009 – ISTANBUL BTMA INFORMATION BOOTH
Twelve BTMA member companies are planning to exhibit at the ITM 2009 International Textile Machinery exhibition to be held at the Tuyap Exhibition complex in Istanbul, Turkey from 6th – 10th June 2009.
It is expected that almost 1000 companies will exhibit and almost 100,000 national and international visitors will attend the exhibition in what is one of the leading textile investment companies of the world.
BTMA will have an information booth and meeting room in the main foyer which will be at the disposal of the UK exhibitors and their guests. Information will also be available from member companies who are not exhibiting at the event and BTMA will provide interpretation, secretarial and communication services for those members that are exhibiting.
SELLERS ENGINEERS LIMITED - NEW BOARD DIRECTOR
TONY SHACKLETON
We are pleased to announce that Tony Shackleton was appointed to the Company Board on 25th April 2008 as Director of Marketing and Far East.
Tony joined Sellers Engineers in May 1994 and has travelled extensively since that time on sales of our Carpet Finishing Machinery. He has played the leading role in developing our business in the Far East and in particular China.
He previously spent 20 years with James Mackie of Belfast on technical sales of Extrusion and Spinning Machinery, followed by a short period with William Tatham’s of Rochdale on Non-Woven equipment.

ITMA ASIA + CITME 2008 – SHANGHAI – 27th – 31st JULY 2008 MIXED FEELINGS FROM UK EXHIBITORS
A total of 28 British exhibitors participated in the exhibition, covering an area of almost 800 sq metres, 18 of which were supported members of BTMA (this represents 40% of the membership). This number is a record for exhibitions held in China.
BTMA provided the usual services to the UK exhibitors together with a large conference/meeting room used extensively for private meetings and seminars.
Many UK and other European exhibitors left the exhibition with mixed feelings regarding their participation in another combined ITMA ASIA + CITME show, mainly due to the poor attendance of non-Chinese visitors.
BTMA TURKEY SYMPOSIUM - ANOTHER GREAT SUCCESS
Four companies with a total of seven speakers who took part were again extremely pleased with the outcome of the symposia, which were held in Istanbul, Denizli and Gaziantep.

The symposia were arranged in conjunction with the UK Trade and Investment Office at the British Consulate General in Istanbul.
Presentations were given to specially invited audience
s via a simultaneous translation system following which a net working session was held. further symposia are now being planned.
TEXMAC 2007 EXHIBITION - NEW DELHI
BTMA organised a British Pavilion at the TEXMAC 2007 Exhibition held in New Delhi from the 17th - 20th January 2007.

ITMA 2007 - MUNICH 13-20th SEPTEMBER 2007
A total of 56 British exhibitors participated in the exhibition, 39 of which were supported members of the BTMA (this represents 89% of the membership).
British Companies covered a total area of 2632 square metres, this being an average of 47 square metres per exhibitor. At ITMA 2003 in Birmingham the average was only 32 square metres per exhibitor.
BTMA participated in the new concept Research and Education Area, where a cheque for Euros 5000 was presented to Leeds University for their work on developing Multi-Media Education and Development programme for the Textile Industry.
BTMA INDIA SYMPOSIUM
Following on from the success of the recent BTMA Symposia held in Pakistan and Turkey, 5 member companies participated in the series of symposia which commenced on the 10th January 2007.
Presentations will be given to invited audiences in Mumbai, Tirapur and New Delhi by:-

The final symposia in the series was held in New Delhi immediately prior to the TEXMAC 07 Exhibition.
BTMA PAKISTAN SYMPOSIUM - 14-21st JANUARY 2006 - A GREAT SUCCESS
All seven companies who took part in this the first BTMA Symposium were extremely pleased with the attendance at each of the symposia which were held in Karachi, Faisalabad and Lahore

The symposia were arranged in conjunction with the UK Trade and Investment Office at the British Deputy High Commission in Karachi. Presentations were given to specially invited audiences following which a networking session was held which gave the participating companies the opportunity of making valuable contacts.
ITM 2006 - ISTANBUL BTMA INFORMATION BOOTH
Sixteen member companies exhibited at the ITM 2006 Exhibition held in Istanbul, Turkey from 27th June to 2nd July 2006.
Despite lower than expected attendance figures the quality of visitor was reported to be good with high levels of enquiries.
Large groups of visitors attended from Iran, Syria and Egypt with the largest group obviously from the Turkish regions.
BTMA were present in a prime area of the foyer where information from all the member companies was on display, together with interpretation, secretarial and communication services for those members present.
BRITISH PAVILION AT CITME 2006 - BEIJING
BTMA organised a British pavilion at the CITME 2006 exhibition held in Beijing 17th - 21st October 2006. It followed the same striking and image enhancing design as used previously in Shanghai.
