Future Leaders Committee’s First Meet
What does the future leadership of our industry look like?
We had the privilege of sitting down with some of the people who will help define it.
We held the first meeting of the British Textile Machinery Association Future Leaders Committee at the BTMA office in Manchester, bringing together our founding cohort for the first time:

There was quite a lot of history from Jason Kent. With over 85 years of BTMA history, our role within CEMATEX the development of ITMA as a global brand, and an industry that has continually evolved, there was a lot of ground to cover.
Understanding where we have come from is important, particularly when this group is being asked to help shape where we go next.
We also discussed what we want the Future Leaders Committee to become. It is about much more than leadership development. We want the cohort to have a genuine voice within BTMA, to challenge our thinking, bring forward new ideas and help influence the future direction of the Association and our industry.

Next up is the Future Leaders Committee residential programme at Cranfield School of Management towards the end of September, the start of a bespoke development programme running alongside the Committee’s work.
It was a very positive first meeting, with some good discussion and ideas already coming through.
85 years of history behind us, but this initiative is very much about the future.
