The partnership provides BTMA with access to regular policy briefings, industry intelligence, consultation opportunities and senior-level forums where manufacturing policy is developed. It also strengthens links with other manufacturing trade associations and sector leaders, creating new opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
BTMA has already begun contributing to Make UK’s work, including participation in its Affiliate Partner Board and International Advisory Board activities. More recently, Make UK highlighted BTMA’s UK–India Textile Machinery Coalition (UKITMC) as an example of best practice in supporting UK exports and international collaboration. The initiative attracted the attention of the new Indian High Commissioner and is being used as a case study demonstrating how sector-led collaboration can help deliver the ambitions of the UK’s Industrial Strategy.
As Make UK continues to work closely with Government on implementing the Industrial Strategy, tackling skills shortages, improving access to finance, reducing industrial energy costs and supporting export growth, BTMA will ensure that the textile machinery sector has a strong and influential voice within these national conversations.
For BTMA members, this partnership enhances the Association’s ability to influence policy, identify emerging opportunities and bring valuable insight back to the industry. It reinforces BTMA’s commitment to ensuring that the UK textile machinery sector remains competitive, innovative and well represented as manufacturing policy continues to evolve.
