The Textile Institute is the only international professional body representing the whole supply chain in the textile industries connecting students, professionals and organisations globally. The Textile Institute provides services that support the continuing professional development of our members whether through educating, knowledge sharing, providing practical advice or connecting members.

The mission of The Textile Institute is to promote professionalism in all areas associated with the textile and related industries worldwide. It is an association of people throughout the world which unites those with an interest in textiles.

HOW IS THE TEXTILE INSTITUTE GOVERNED?

It is run democratically by and for its members all over the world by its Council and Representatives from Sections and Special Interest Groups (SIGs). It was incorporated in England by a Royal Charter granted in 1925, was inaugurated in 1910 and is a registered charity.

The Textile Institute is a fully international organisation represented by local and national offices around the world with its International Headquarters based in Manchester, UK.

Membership of the Institute is open to all, and has both Corporate and Individual Members worldwide. By joining the TI, members instantly become part of an international, professionally diverse network of members. You will have access to a vast publications portfolio of books and journals and be able to apply for an internationally recognised professional qualification.
